2022 Honda Hr-V e:HEV: Equipment, Prices and Debut
A further chapter of the highly electrified new deal according to Honda is preparing for its debut on the market. It is the new generation of the HR-V compact-SUV which, officially presented in mid-February 2021 and exclusively equipped with a full-hybrid power system e:HEV, enters the ordering phase, accompanied by a pre-launch offer (for the first 500 customers) that adds a interesting customer benefit.
Honda HR-V e:HEV will debut in Italian dealerships in February 2022. This is fully in line with the lineup evolution program towards low (or completely absent) CO2 emissions at the exhaust recently announced by the leaders of the Japanese giant through the “Electric Vision” program aimed at transforming its range into an electric and hybrid key within 2022. The range is divided into three trim levels: Elegance, Advance, and Advance Style.
Already at the time of booking, Honda Italia informs, the new HR-V e:HEV benefits from 4,500 of Honda Hybrid Bonus, which together with state incentives in case of scrapping materialize in a cut of 4,500 euros: in this way, the starting price drops to 26,400 euros (Elegance version). In addition, the phase preceding its debut in showrooms is offered a “Privilege Pack”, which includes an eight-year e:HEV warranty and three years of free maintenance. The offer is valid for the first 500 customers.
With regard to digitization and active driving assistance systems, all versions are supplied with:
- Infotainment with 9” touch screen to control the functionality of the Apple CarPlay user device (via Bluetooth, cable or WiFi) and Android Auto (via cable);
- Honda Sensing ADAS device module;
- Hill Descent Control.
The e:HEV system and Engine
Under the hood, Honda H-RV 2022 is equipped with full-hybrid technology which represents the most recent evolution in chronological order of a path of constant upgrade in the field of electrification that relies on over twenty years of expertise (the first , aboard Honda Insight, date back to 1999) and involved normal series production as well as Formula 1.
In detail, the Atkinson cycle DOHC i-VTEC 1.5 petrol drive unit (double overhead camshaft with continuous and gradual variation) is combined with two compact electric motors, powered by a 60-cell lithium-ion battery ( instead of 48 as on the Honda Jazz, as the B-SUV offers larger dimensions and can therefore guarantee more energy storage and distribution).
The transmission uses an innovative fixed gear system linked to an intelligent “control unit”. In order to optimize propulsion efficiency, Honda HR-V e:HEV has three driving modes, automatically operated (based on instant needs) under the control of the electronic unit: Electric Drive, Hybrid Drive, and Energy Drive.
The driver can select a “Sport” program (using a dedicated control), an “Econ” mode (aimed at adjusting the on-board A / C system and the response of the accelerator itself in order to improve fuel consumption), and a “Normal” program which offers an optimal balance between the two “Sport” and “Econ” modes.
