Three and a half years after the debut of the current second generation (in turn followed by the Station Wagon version which debuted in the summer of 2019), the Peugeot 508 is getting a makeover. The Sochaux “flagship”, which in even more recent times has been the subject of a substantial evolutionary program that has involved, in order, the introduction of the plug-in hybrid configuration and the arrival of the ultra-powerful “shotgun” declination PSE-Peugeot Sport Engineered, undergoes a “make-up” of substance that updates the range assortment for the Italian market, proposes new body colors and external moldings, and a series of hi-tech accessories. All this, without prejudice to the lineup of power supply proposals, which refer to the well-known (and wide) variety of propulsion systems.
On the outside, the Peugeot 508 2022 stands out for the debut of the Dark Blue metallic finish among the body colors available at no extra cost. To stay on the subject of aesthetic upgrades, the frames of the side windows take a new stylistic course, through a bright black color for the whole range. The same finish applies to the rear-view mirror shells and, in the GT and GT Pack versions, the front grille (here with Dark Chrome inserts). Of particular note is an interesting feature that enriches the equipment of the Allure Pack proposals: the Full Led optical groups, supplied as standard.
The interiors have also been revised and corrected in terms of aesthetics and functionality: specifically, the start button takes on a Dark Chrome color (corresponding to the external moldings in the front grille) for the Allure Pack, GT and GT Pack configurations. in particular, the Hybrid 225 version (rechargeable hybrid) in GT Pack version receives the mixed coating in TEP and Alcantara, in order to align itself with the corresponding thermal engine proposal and adopting a darker color.
Under the hood, no surprises: the Peugeot “flagship” confirms the three types of fuel that make up the current lineup, namely petrol, turbodiesel and Plug-in Hybrid 225. Specifically, the Diesel BlueHDi 130 variants, PureTech Turbo 130 petrol and Plug-in are combined as standard with the eight-speed EAT8 automatic transmission.
The new 2022 edition of Sochaux’s D segment optimizes its presence on our market: the Active, Allure and Business configurations are in effect, while the other (more equipped) versions available so far remain confirmed: Active Pack, Allure Pack, GT, and GT Pack. The following are the details relating to the sales amount communicated by Peugeot: Peugeot 508 Active Pack: the price list starts at 33,900 euros (PureTech turbo sedan petrol version); Peugeot 508 Active Pack Station wagon: from 34,900 euros (same version of engine); Peugeot 508 Plug-in Hybrid Allure Pack: start from 48,950 euros.
